Dead car :/

Well it is official there will no longer be a Saturn in my life. This makes me sad. I was driving back to Kato last weekend and was almost in to Belle Plaine when loud noise emitted from the car along with smoke and me quickly, very quickly steering over to the shoulder, where the car subsequently died. I was already on the phone with my mom so I told her what happened and then sat and waited for the tow truck to come. 45 minutes later the car was hooked behind Affordable Towing tow truck and we were on our way back to town, where I was planning on being already. So we take the car to the shop which is where it was going in the first place but sadly did not make on its own attempt. On Tuesday I got the official word that she was dead and would not be making a come back. I was sad thinking of all the good times I've had with her and not being able to say goodbye. But as the week progressed I started being ok with being in mom's car, which is soon to become mine or so it seems as I write this. I decided that I will remember the good stuff about my car and the fun times I had in it; not the bad sitting along the road being broken kind. So in closing of this topic I said goddbye in my head to the good car and look forward to making new memories with my different car. So good bye to Car #2 for me. She did good but I wish we could have had longer.

School has two weeks left. Still not official on a site. Finals this week and next so it's back to studying for me. Wish me luck!

Three weeks left...

I am in shock that I only have three weeks of classroom time left. It feels like I just started yesterday. I am extremely happy with how everything with that is turning out. I can't wait to be done and out actually gaining experience in the feild. I am currently working on getting my internship set up. I have a couple small animal clinics in Lincoln, NE in mind. One I would prefer over the other. I hope to find out soon which one I will be working at for my 12 week internship. After that it's time for "real life". Wow. I have done so much since last writing, mostly mundane and ordinary. I am beginning to anticipate my pending move to NE. That will be nice to have a big change in scenery and everyday things around me. I also am very very wanting to see my fiancee. I miss him terribly but soon enough we will be back in the same state. YAY! It is very difficult having only the phone to communicate. We are excited at the thought of seeing reactions on each other's faces and actually having the chance to reach out and touch each other. That will be the best part is being face to face again. I can't wait.

Bad news though my car is acting up. We will see what the real problem is there.

Three weeks and counting....

I am so sleepy today. Not much going on at all. Worked that's about it. Now I am sitting around doing absolutely nothing.

Really not a lot has happened that has been super interesting or newsworthy. I started school again. It's good. I went to CO, that was ok. Really not a lot of interesting things.

so that's the story

So an interesting thing happend at work yesterday. The power went out and all the registers slowly went off. They didn't all go off at the same time because they ran off of what they had left of their backup batteries. So we all tried to jump from register to register to get as many people out the door in as little time as possible before the registers all died. Needless to say that didn't work well because the minute we would start a new order it would go off. So eventually there were no registers working and about 10 people wating to check out. That sucked! Anyway we finally got a coupl registers up on backup power but the rest were still down. Everyone in the store was scrambling to get the cold stuff covered or into the big coolers. We were calling in a  bunch of the head people to try and get a hold of someone to fix the power. I don't know why the power was out. But for the last three hours of my day I worked with partial power.

Going on my missions...

I had an interesting weekend. I went on what I like to call a reconnisance mission. So what in the world does that mean??? To the commoner that equals me going to a wedding. It was a pretty cermony and simple yet elegant reception. I had a really fun time. Of course I had to travel to the wedding which was in Overland Park, Kansas (suburb of Kansas City), but it was an interesting ride. I rode down with my aunt and uncle, grandpa and my mom. So not really anyone my own age until we got there. The drive took us  6 1/2 hours. BORING. So why call it a reconnisance mission you may ask...because of course I was doing my own research on what I liked and didn't like at weddings. I like seeing what other people do for their weddings so I can get some ideas for my own wedding. I came up with quite a few. Yay!

Anyway that is enough for today.

Leslie
